On 28 February 2024, Brigadier Hillary Kipkosgey, the Acting Director General of the Kenya Space Agency (KSA), convened a meeting with Jennifer R. Littlejohn, the Acting Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs of the United States, to deliberate on potential areas of collaboration between the United States and Kenya concerning science, environmental conservation, and space exploration.

The meeting summary released by KSA highlighted that the discussions centred on fostering collaborative efforts to address pressing global challenges and leverage advancements in science and technology for the betterment of both nations and the international community. Both parties were committed to furthering cooperation and exploring mutually beneficial science, environmental sustainability, and space exploration initiatives.

Assistant Secretary Littlejohn, who is currently visiting Kenya to participate in the United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA), was accompanied by her esteemed delegation, including Special Assistant Eugene Bae, Environmental Justice Officer Allison Waters, and Economic Associate Kiara Reilly. The Kenyan delegation comprised notable figures from the KSA, including Ms. Joan Chesoni, a KSA Board Member; Charles Mwangi, the Acting Director in charge of Space Applications; and Joy Kirui, the Personal Assistant to the Director General.
