AMN Passes 1 Billion Phone Calls in Sub-Saharan Africa

Africa Mobile Networks (AMN) has announced that it now processes more than 1 billion phone calls annually for subscribers in previously unconnected rural areas in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Africa Mobile Networks (AMN) is a telecom company focused on building more than 20,000 mobile network base stations, delivering 2G, 3G and 4G (and later 5G) telecom services to previously-unconnected communities in 10 Sub-Sahara African countries. AMN’s vision is for no community of any size in Africa to be without affordable access to essential voice and data telecommunication services.
AMN announced that in June 2020, it processed 91,623,222 voice calls. With the June figures, AMN has amassed 1.1 billion calls and nearly 6 terabytes of data. The company currently operates 1200 base stations across the sub-region and is aiming at 2000 base stations by the end of 2020, and eventually, 20,000 base stations in 30 countries across the continent.
