Mrs Judith Yah Sunday Appointed the Chairperson of the Regional African Satellite Communications Organisation
The Board of Directors of the Regional African Satellite Communications Organisation (RASCOM) has confirmed Mrs Judith Yah Sunday as its Chairperson. Her confirmation occurred on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the 74th Assembly of the RASCOM Board of Directors held in Cameroon.
Before her appointment, Mrs Judith Yah Sunday served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL) from December 14, 2018. Upon assuming her duties, Mrs Judith Yah Sunday wasted no time implementing reforms to establish CAMTEL as the leading telecommunications provider in the Central Africa subregion. In addition, his administration swiftly initiated three phases of strategic frameworks: Stabilisation and Relaunch (2019), consolidation and Expansion (2020-2022), and Sub-Regional Leadership in Digital Transformation (2023-2025). With three decades of experience in governance and the development of public enterprises, she brings a wealth of expertise to her new role as the Chairperson of RASCOM.
Furthermore, Mrs. Judith Yah Sunday earned her Economics degree from the University of Quebec in Montreal, Canada, in 1991, followed by a master’s in International Banking and Finance from the International Relations Institute of Cameroon, IRIC. She has held notable positions such as Vice President for Central Africa on the Board of Directors for the Institute of African Federation for Internal Audit in Tanzania and Executive President at the International Institute of Insurance–Cameroon. During her tenure, she orchestrated two successful international conferences on the governance of public enterprises. Presently, she serves as the founding President of the Association of National Telecommunications Operators in Central Africa.
