Paratus Signs Reseller Agreement with Starlink for Africa
Paratus Group (Paratus) has announced that it has entered an agreement as a distributor for Starlink’s high-speed services across Africa. This agreement empowers Paratus to offer Starlink services to its customers across various African nations, contingent on Starlink receiving operating licenses in those regions. Initially, and with immediate effect, Starlink will be available from Paratus in Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Rwanda before being rolled out to more countries.
Starlink recognises Paratus Group as a key African distributor. To this end, Paratus can immediately provide its customers with fixed, mobility and maritime services. Paratus will be able to provide its customers 24/7/365 enterprise support.
Starlink is a high-speed broadband internet service that offers a simple and easily scalable hardware platform, making it accessible worldwide without relying on local infrastructure. This service has already reached tens of thousands of business locations. Similarly, it caters to various customer needs, such as primary enterprise connectivity, 4G and VSAT replacement, backup options, interim setups, and emergency services.
Starlink boasts an impressive uptime record of over 99.5% for all its customers, with even better performance for installations without obstructions. This uptime figure is calculated without considering adverse weather conditions or cable outages. Thus, Paratus is set to immediately provide its customers with fixed, mobile, and maritime services, offering 24/7/365 enterprise support.
Group Chief Commercial Officer of Paratus, Martin Cox, says: “This agreement aligns perfectly with our vision of transforming Africa through exceptional digital infrastructure and customer service. Therefore, we can offer industry sectors – such as land and offshore energy, mining, hospitality, education, healthcare, agriculture and more – the reliable and constant connectivity they need to flourish, no matter how remote they are.”
Cox adds: “The Starlink agreement further strengthens our LEO services across Africa and affirms our considerable capability and reach on the continent. It reinforces our goal to collaborate with entities that share our vision of transforming African businesses and communities.”
