Azercosmos and Israel’s satellite operator, Spacecom, have signed a cooperation agreement to implement long-term projects. Speaking on the agreement, the Deputy Chairman of Azercosmos, Fuad Aslanov, said these projects would see the company expand its client base across Africa through Azercosmos’  geostationary satellites, Azerspace-1 and Azerspace-2.

The CEO of Spacecom, Yon Rosenberg, spoke about how Azercosmos satellites would be integral in developing joint space activities due to their dynamism in the African market. According to him, “the partnership began in 2019 as part of the expansion strategy in Africa. Since then, it has sought to take advantage of the demands in the market where Africa has a growing demand for high-speed connectivity and digital transformation.”
