The 2022 NewSpace Africa Conference is Set to Host over 100 Delegates from four Continents

Space in Africa is convening its maiden event, the 2022 NewSpace Africa Conference, from April 25-27th 2022, at the Villa Rosa Kempinski in Nairobi, Kenya. The 3-day conference themed “Making Africa the New Hotspot for Space Business“ will feature selected keynotes, interactive sessions, panel discussions, business pitches, B2B matchmaking, B2C matchmaking and unique networking opportunities. 

The high-level event will feature over 100 delegates from 29 countries across four continents, including heads of African space agencies and top industry leaders, representatives from the leading commercial space companies, investors, and other key stakeholders in the African space and satellite industry.  

The event will kickstart with a welcome address by Hon Eugene. L Wamalwa, Cabinet Secretary of Defence, Government of Kenya and Colonel Hillary Biwott Kipkosgey, DG/CEO Kenya Space Agency. Dr Tidiane Outtarra, Space Science Expert, African Union Commission (AUC) and Programme Coordinator, GMES & Africa; Dr Val Munsami, Chancellor, International Space University and Former CEO, South African National Space Agency (SANSA); Dr Ayman Ahmed, Head of Space Imaging Division and member, board of directors, Egyptian Space Agency; Dr Peter Martinez, Executive Director, Secure World Foundation, will deliver keynote addresses at the inaugural edition of the NewSpace Africa Conference 2022. Their presentations will provide a macro context for this year’s theme, and how to better align the space business with African business realities and access untapped opportunities in the African space industry.

Notably, the high-level gathering will include selected keynotes and panel discussions from 60 industry experts that will be dissecting recent events, interpreting emerging trends and assessing new opportunities in the African space industry. In addition, there will be ample networking opportunities and a startup pitch competition.

In addition, the event will provide a platform to build and maintain new relationships with African space and satellite industry stakeholders. The conference’s emphasis is on creating new partnerships and business collaborations to advance the industry’s economics. The 3-day event will also provide the platform for leaders in government, industry, academia and investors to build new business connections and relationships to advance the industry. Organisations will also have the opportunity to exhibit their capabilities and experience to a wide range of attendees representing the entire industry value chain.
