EgSA Hosts Representatives from the Russian Embassy & Russian Cultural Centre

The executive president of the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA), Dr Mohamed Al-Qousi, received delegates from the Russian Embassy and the Director of the Russian Cultural Centres in Egypt, Dr Murad Jatin, on April 12 2022, at the agency’s headquarters. The meeting was an avenue to celebrate the memory of Yuri Gagarin, the first human to journey into outer space.

Dr Mohammed Al-Qousi welcomed the delegation and expressed his happiness with their presence to celebrate the anniversary of the ascension of Yuri Jajarin to space. In addition, DR Al-Qousi discussed the ongoing cooperation between the two countries in space science and technology and the importance of Yuri Gagarin’s feat to the entire space community.

After his opening remark, Dr Al-Qousi led the delegates to honour the memory of the late cosmonaut by placing flowers at the statue of Yuri Gagarin at the entrance of the Egyptian Space Agency. 

Also, Dr Al Qousi accompanied the delegates on tour around EgSA’s establishment, which included a visit to the Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) building headquarters, the agency laboratories, various satellite factories and the latest technology and human capabilities within the Agency.

Dr Murad Jatin, other delegates and top officials at EgSA further discussed areas of possible collaboration between both countries that will benefit the entire continent.

And at the end of the visit, Dr Mohamed Al-Qousi handed over the space agency’s shield to Dr Murad Jatin, the director of the Russian Cultural Centre.
