EgSA Signs Agreement with Alexandria University to Develop an Educational Satellite Laboratory

On April 13, 2021, the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) and Alexandria University (AU) signed an agreement for the project titled “Educational Laboratory Satellites associated with the Egyptian Space Technology Educational Platform” through the establishment of an educational laboratory at the faculty of engineering at the University of Alexandria.
Signatories present at the ceremony were Dr Mohamed Iraqi, executive Vice President Of the EgSA, The Dean of the faculty of Engineering in AU; Dr Said Abdul Qadir Allam, Deputy Project manager of EgSA; Wasem Hossam, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Magdy Abdel-Azim Ahmed and Vice Dean for Education and Students Affairs, Dr Tamer Helmy Abdelhamid.
Dr Mohamed Iraqi emphasised that the agreement is part of the framework for various Egyptian universities to develop space science and technology capable of bringing about sustainable development. He also mentioned that it is an avenue to create unique opportunities for students to understand and explore the design and workings of satellites.
Dr Mohamed Iraqi also mentioned that “The Egyptian Space Agency is keen to support research, studies and educational programs in space science and technology and encourage the utilisation out its outcome”.
Dr Said concluded that “ The constructive and positive cooperation between the Egyptian Space Agency and Alexandria University will bring about a capable and conscious generation competing in the globally for space exploration.
