Angola space agency launches “AngoSat Educa”, a mobile application for space education and outreach

Technology is increasingly advanced and today it plays a very important role in almost all sectors. We see this great dependence on the academic sector, where students use means such as computers and telephones to increase their knowledge. Taking these factors into account, GGPEN has developed an application for high school students called Angosat Educa.
The Angosat Educa application is developed by GGPEN for the Android operating system. It contains 6 steps, where each step describes a topic. Each stage contains an interactive game where the user can test their knowledge.
The Angosat EDUCA is an application with educational purpose, an initiative of the National Space Program Management Office (GGPEN) within the space education, which aims to disseminate basic concepts about space and gather information about the Angosat project, it is framed in the National Space Program.
Through the use of information technologies, the application provides information about outer space, satellites, elements of a space mission, space history, Angosat-1, Angosat-2 and small satellites – a simple and free app for smartphones and tablets.
The application steps are:
Space History – this stage is dated some of the major landmarks of Space History.
Space culture – in this step is described the characteristic elements of outer space.
Satellites – this step defines satellites and how they are classified.
Elements of the Space Mission – in this step is described which is a space mission, the elements that compose it and the need for a space mission.
Angosat-1 – this step is described the need for Angosat-1 satellite, main purpose and its benefits.
Angosat-2 – this step is described the Angosat-2 satellite, the main objective and its benefits.
Small Satellites – this stage is defined which are small satellites when it was presented the concept of small satellites, types, purpose and leadership training program cansat.
The Angosat EDUCA has great importance in space education by presenting a different learning method, game that takes users to understand the space and its technology, from a different perspective, to answer questions on it. This contact can greatly influence the users of school age, in future professional and mental choice.
