5 Years of Ecosystem Development: NSAC Impact Report

Space in Africa is set to publish the first-ever NewSpace Africa Conference Impact Report, documenting the conference’s five-year journey from its inaugural edition in Nairobi in 2022 to its milestone 2026 edition in Libreville, Gabon. The report documents the evolution of Africa’s leading space industry gathering, highlighting the stakeholders, partnerships, and conversations shaping the continent’s space and satellite industry.

Across five editions hosted in Kenya, Côte d’Ivoire, Angola, Egypt, and Gabon, the conference, organised by Space in Africa and the African Space Agency, has brought together more than 2,300 participants from 98 countries and 782 organisations, reflecting the growing interest in Africa’s space capabilities and the opportunities emerging across the sector.

The Impact Report will provide in-depth insights into the evolution of the NewSpace Africa Conference into a key platform for policy dialogue, business development, investment conversations, and international cooperation within Africa’s space ecosystem, and highlight the conference’s role in convening high-level decision-makers, underscoring its role as a platform for strategic discussions and partnerships.

Beyond industry conversations, the report examines the conference’s broader economic and ecosystem impact. The report explores six key areas of impact:

  • Policy and continental space development
  • Partnerships and international cooperation
  • Growth of the African NewSpace ecosystem
  • Investment and commercial opportunities
  • Talent development and capacity building

Developed by Space in Africa, the Impact Report is a record of the people, institutions, and partnerships that have shaped the conference’s journey and the broader transformation of Africa’s space ecosystem.  The NewSpace Africa Conference Impact Report is designed for stakeholders seeking to understand the trajectory of Africa’s space ecosystem, including policymakers developing space strategies, investors assessing opportunities in emerging markets, commercial players interested in partnerships, and international organisations supporting sector development.
