Azam Media Expands DTH Services Through New Eutelsat Multi-Year Deal

Azam Media has signed a new multi-year, multi-transponder agreement with Eutelsat, enabling the platform to reach broader audiences in Sub-Saharan Africa’s prime 7° East video neighbourhood while strengthening its long-standing relationship.
This partnership enhances Azam Media‘s capability to extend its pay-TV Direct-to-Home presence in East Africa, bringing more regional and international channels to one of the most viewed and popular orbital positions across the region.
A Strategic Video Hotspot
The 7° East position serves as a critical video hub for English-speaking audiences throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. Offering expansive regional coverage and robust power levels, this satellite neighbourhood has established itself as a preferred location for high-quality video distribution across the continent.
Building on a Proven Partnership
The collaboration between Eutelsat and Azam Media spans several years, having successfully built a significant DTH presence across Sub-Saharan Africa. Azam Media currently operates a leading TV platform that broadcasts over 130 channels to viewers throughout the region. Through this expanded agreement with Eutelsat, Azam Media continues to harness satellite technology to provide seamless, high-quality viewing experiences to millions, particularly reaching audiences in remote and underserved areas where access to entertainment remains limited.
Industry Leadership Perspectives
Commenting on the partnership’s impact, Jacob Joseph, CEO of AzamTV, said:
“The addition of two new transponders to our current capacity on EUTELSAT 7C is a testament to our commitment in providing a superior viewing experience to our customers.”
Aymeric Genty, President of Eutelsat’s Video Business Unit, added: “We are delighted to be deepening our partnership with Azam Media. Our 7° East neighbourhood continues to be the go-to choice for video distribution in Eastern Africa, and we’re excited to help Azam Media scale its platform to meet increasing viewer demand. This partnership underscores the critical role of satellite in enabling inclusive access to information and entertainment, especially in areas where terrestrial infrastructure is limited. With this expansion, Azam Media is set to offer a broader range of content to a diverse and growing audience.”
