EgSA and AQMAAR Partner to Strengthen Domestic Satellite Manufacturing

The Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) has announced a strategic partnership with AQMAAR, an Egypt-based satellite component manufacturer, a critical step in advancing the country’s satellite manufacturing capabilities and strengthening its technological infrastructure in the space sector. This collaboration unites two key entities with complementary expertise under EgSA’s CEO, Professor Sherif Sedky, and AQMAAR’s CEO, Engineer Ahmed Nassar. The partnership promotes technological innovation, enhances scientific collaboration, and creates a structured pathway for Egypt’s growing space industry.
Building Egypt’s Space Manufacturing Ecosystem
At the core of this agreement is the development of satellite manufacturing capabilities, leveraging EgSA’s advanced MAIT (Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, and Testing) infrastructure, which supports the production and testing of satellites, including CubeSats up to 600 kg. In addition, the partnership also facilitates knowledge exchange, addressing key challenges in Egypt’s space technology ecosystem and driving sustained innovation.
AQMAAR, positioned as Egypt’s first private-sector satellite manufacturer, is committed to advancing space technology through modular satellite solutions. The company’s ambitious vision includes “swarm-oriented satellite missions”, with a demonstration mission—a 3U CubeSat—set to launch in Q4 2025. This mission will validate AQMAAR’s modular design approach, a defining feature of its future CubeSat platforms.
Technical and Strategic Impact
A key aspect of the partnership is EgSA’s provision of access to its specialised infrastructure for comprehensive satellite testing, including environmental, mechanical, and electrical system verifications. These facilities ensure satellites meet the highest reliability and performance standards before deployment. This collaboration exemplifies EgSA’s commitment to fostering private-sector contributions to Egypt’s space ecosystem and advancing domestic technological capabilities.

Beyond its technical scope, the partnership represents a progressive cooperation model between government agencies, research institutions, and private technology companies. It aligns with Egypt’s broader digital transformation goals by driving innovation in space-based solutions and positioning the country as a competitive player in the global space industry.
By combining EgSA’s institutional expertise with AQMAAR’s entrepreneurial approach, this partnership sets the foundation for a robust, self-sustaining space industry in Egypt, unlocking new opportunities for technological growth and economic development.
