EgSA Hosts Singapore Delegates to Discuss Areas of Collaboration

Professor Sherif Sedky, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, hosted Mr Dominic Goh, the Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore, and his delegation. The delegation visit aimed to enhance bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Singapore in space technology and explore ways to maximise both parties’ capabilities.
The meeting at the Egyptian Space Agency headquarters marked a significant step towards strengthening collaboration between Egypt and Singapore. Both leaders were enthusiastic about deepening ties and sharing expertise to enhance their space programmes.
Strengthening Ties and Advancing Space Capabilities Through Collaboration
Professor Sedky highlighted Egypt’s recent advancements in space technology, including the successful launch of several satellites and ongoing projects to develop indigenous satellite manufacturing capabilities. He emphasised the importance of international cooperation in achieving these milestones and expressed hope that partnering with Singapore would lead to innovative solutions and mutual growth.
During the visit, the Singaporean delegation was briefed on the latest technologies used by the Egyptian Space Agency to analyse and process spatial images. Discussions also focused on developing joint research projects. Dr Sedky warmly welcomed the visit, underscoring the importance of international partnerships in space technology, which strengthen local and global capacities in this vital field.
The Singaporean delegation showed special interest in leveraging the Egyptian Space Agency’s experiences for future space projects. They emphasised sharing experiences and techniques to achieve common goals in space technology. In addition, Dr Sedky noted that working with Singapore could open new horizons for development and innovation in the space sphere.

They explored the possibility of organising joint workshops and training programmes to enhance Egyptian and Singaporean experts’ technical and scientific capabilities in the field.
