EgSA Signs Multiple Partnership Deals at El Alamein Airshow
The Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) used the El Alamein International Airshow 2026 as a platform for a series of bilateral engagements, signing new agreements and advancing existing cooperation frameworks with partners from the UAE, Bulgaria, and Saudi Arabia.
UAE: Satellite Imagery and Academy Cooperation
On the sidelines of the Aerospace Future Technology Symposium, EgSA CEO Dr Eng. Maged Ismail met with H.E. Salem Butti Salem Al Qubaisi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency, to explore opportunities for strengthening cooperation across several areas of mutual interest.
Discussions addressed the final arrangements ahead of signing an agreement for the acquisition and distribution of imagery from Arab Satellite 813, supporting the use of space-based data in advancing development priorities. The two sides also explored cooperation between the Egyptian Space Academy and its UAE counterpart, including the coordination of joint training programmes to facilitate knowledge exchange and develop the capabilities of specialised professionals.
Bulgaria: MoU With TBS Ltd on Space Technology and Capacity Building
EgSA also signed a memorandum of understanding with Bulgarian company TBS Ltd., establishing a framework for cooperation in space technology, satellites, and capacity building. The agreement aims to expand Egypt’s international partnerships, promote knowledge transfer, and develop national capabilities in space technology and industry, opening new avenues for cooperation between the two sides.
Saudi Arabia: Joint Satellite Initiative Moves Forward
The airshow also provided an opportunity to advance the Egyptian-Saudi joint satellite project. Senior representatives from both space agencies met to discuss the implementation roadmap for the initiative to design and build the first joint Egyptian-Saudi satellite, aimed at harnessing space technologies in support of sustainable development and the shared priorities of both nations.
