Nilesat Signs Cooperation Agreement with Arabsat to Enhance Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Services in the Region

The Egyptian Satellite Company (Nilesat) signed a strategic partnership and cooperation agreement with the Arab Satellite Communications Corporation (Arabsat)  on the sidelines of the third edition of the Saudi Media Forum, which held in the Saudi capital from February 19 to 21 in Riyadh. The agreement covers cooperation in satellite television broadcasting and communications in the region. 

The agreement was signed by Nilesat’s Chairman and Managing Director, Major General Sameh Qata, who stressed the company’s keenness to open more outlets for cooperation with various satellite operators in the region within the framework of the company’s plans to exchange expertise and the capabilities of satellite technology. In addition, he pointed out that the cooperation with Arabsat aims to achieve integration in providing satellite broadcasting and communication services through an advanced satellite system covering broad geographical areas that meet all the customers’ needs in the Middle East and Africa.

The Chief Executive Officer of Arabsat, Engineer Al-Humaidi bin Manahi Al-Enezi, expressed his enthusiasm for the cooperation with Nilesat, describing it as an excellent ground to conclude new agreements that enhance the strategic partnership between the two sides, support development in all fields of satellite broadcasting and communications, and enhance partnerships in many areas of common interest to achieve the interests of both parties.
