GGPEN Visits Portuguese Space Agency

The Director General of the National Space Programme Management Office (GGPEN), Dr Zolana Joao, visited the premises of the Portuguese Space Agency (PT Space). The Director-General had discussions with the president of PT Space, Ricardo Conde, to explore models for exchanging experiences, staff training and future collaboration between both agencies.

Through this partnership, GGPEN plans to implement two pillars from Angola’s National Space Strategy, culminating in promoting Angola’s space ecosystem and the international affirmation of the Angolan state in the space domain.

Recently, Angola has been asserting itself internationally through various projects/solutions, including the international partnership in drought mitigation projects with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). In addition, GGPEN has created space technologies by launching three space-based solutions; Tech-gest, Tech-ecologia and Tech-agro.
