NIGCOMSAT Partners with Hydropolis Free Trade Zone to Provide Broadband Services for Proposed Smart City

The Nigerian Communication Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) and the management of Hydropolis Free Trade Zone, a subsidiary of Mainstream Energy Solutions, partnered to establish a Free Trade Zone, expected to develop a world-class business centre in Nigeria.

The Free Trade Zone, located in Amfani, in the New Bussa Local Government Area of Niger State, over 2,000 hectares of land, is the chosen area to construct a proposed Smart City. In addition, with NIGCOMSAT’s partnership, the company is expected to provide full broadband services for the Smart City. 

Addressing the team, the Managing Director, NIGCOMSAT Ltd, Engineer Tukur Mohammed Lawal, highlights the company’s preparedness to ensure the essential services and infrastructures needed to guarantee the success of the City are provided.

Collaborating Engineer Tukur’s statements, the  Managing Director of Hydropolis Free Trade Zone, Dr Abdulmalik Andagi, stated the team’s visit was to seek a partnership with NIGCOMSAT to provide internet broadband services for the City.

To this end, NIGCOMSAT petitioned for a formal proposal, which Hydropolis Free Trade Zone agreed to provide, setting up a technical committee to discuss all necessary business transactions. In addition,  Hydropolis Free Trade Zone invited NIGCOMSAT to examine the chosen site.
