GGPEN Technicians Undergo Academic Training on the Aerospace Industry

Three technicians from the Management Office of the National Space Program (GGPEN) have been attending master’s courses in Aerospace Project Management (APM) and Space Applications and Services (SPAPs), in Institut Supérieur de l’aéronautique et de l’espace, ENAC – Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile, and EAE – L’École de l’air et de l’espace (ISAE-SUPAERO). The programme has been on since September 2021.

The technicians studied topics including Innovation Management and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), Strategic Patent Management, Project Financing, Economics of Industrial Programmes, Multicultural Projects, Resource Management from a Project Perspective, Management of Acquisition and Development Programs ( A&D – Acquisitions and Development ), Telecommunications Satellites for Cell Phones, Large-scale Broadband Satellite Communication Systems, among others.

The Master’s programme involves a balance of theoretical and practical classes. Furthermore, it must end with a practical application of knowledge in companies in the Aerospace sector in Europe. This internship experience will serve as a means of improving the acquired knowledge. Furthermore, as these masters are aimed at professionals with previous experience in the Aerospace sector, classes are taught in English. This enables the sharing of experiences and knowledge with other professionals from various regions.

The Master’s in Aerospace Project Management (APM), in which Engineers Osvaldo Porto and Júlio Morais participate, provides an overview of the international military or civil aerospace industry. In addition, it offers up-to-date skills, cutting-edge knowledge and skills necessary to successfully lead teams of projects or programs in the aerospace and defence industry at a global level. Likewise, the Master’s in Space Applications and Services (SPAPs), in which the engineer João Junior participates, allows for the improvement of knowledge in space systems and their use in the areas of Earth observation, communications and navigation. Students will have to design spatial applications and services using concrete examples and experimental work.
