Kenyan University to Host Kenyan Space Agency Research Chair
The University of Eldoret, Kenya, has been selected to host the Kenyan Space Agency research chair on space weather.
In a statement released by the university, they will be leading a consortium of institutions to carry research on space weather. according to the statement; “the University of Eldoret has been awarded Kshs. 5 million ($46,000) by the Kenya Space Agency (KSA) to host the KSA Nanosatellite Development/Operational Space Weather Chair. The University leads a consortium with other institutions that won this award. The purpose of the Research Chair is to catalyze and promote research in Space Science, Technology and related applications.”
“The University appreciates and commends all those who worked tirelessly to develop a proposal in response to an advertisement made by KSA in one of the local dailies in August. The proposal went through the rigorous review which included a virtual presentation to the judging panel. The University made it to the final list alongside two other Universities. Congratulations to the team.”
