9th Afrigeo Symposium
Attend the AfriGEO Symposium 2025
AfriGEO is hosting the 9th AfriGEO Symposium, co-hosted by the Centre de Suivi Écologique (CSE) in Senegal from 7–9 October 2025. This year’s event will be held under the theme “From Data to Impact: Strengthening Africa’s Geospatial Future.”
Symposium Goals
- Strengthen Open Data Access: Advance policy support for free, accessible, and usable EO data across sectors.
- Transform Data into Insights: Showcase EO applications contributing to climate resilience, food security, urban planning, and disaster preparedness.
- Promote Regional and Global Collaboration: Reinforce networks like AfriGEO and GEO through shared infrastructure and expertise.
- Embrace Technological Innovation: Highlight the role of AI, cloud computing, and big data in closing the digital divide.
- Empower the Next Generation: Invest in education, capacity building, and inclusive development to ensure EO benefits all Africans, particularly youth and marginalised communities.
