The Senegalese Space Study Agency (ASES) and SatNav Africa JPO have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to create a comprehensive framework for collaboration in satellite navigation and space applications. The MoU focuses on fostering innovative business clusters in Senegal and across Africa.

Following the signing ceremony, the parties outlined a roadmap for the organisation’s short-to-medium-term initiatives. Key highlights of this roadmap include:
- Webinar Series: A series of webinars will be conducted to educate national entities in the maritime, agricultural, and geospatial sectors on using Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS).
- Girls in Space Science: An awareness campaign to encourage and inspire girls to pursue careers in space science and technology.
- International Conference: An international conference on satellite navigation to bring together experts and stakeholders worldwide.
- Earth Observation Hackathon: A hackathon focused on Earth observation to drive innovation and practical solutions in this crucial field.
- These initiatives underscore the commitment of both parties to advance satellite navigation technology and space applications, promoting socio-economic development and technological innovation in Senegal and throughout Africa.
