ARABSAT and Libya Telecom and Technology Partner to Strengthen Satellite Connectivity in Libya
The Arab Satellite Communications Organization (ARABSAT) and Libya Telecom and Technology (LTT) have signed a strategic partnership Agreement aimed at strengthening satellite communications and supporting the development of Libya’s digital infrastructure.
Under the agreement, ARABSAT will provide High Throughput Satellite capacity on Arabsat-6A at 30.5 degrees east to support LTT’s existing and future connectivity requirements. The partnership also creates a platform for both organisations to explore new collaboration opportunities, expand service capabilities, and deliver solutions addressing the evolving needs of government, enterprise, telecommunications operators, and other critical sectors.
Complementary Strengths, One Strategic Goal
The agreement combines ARABSAT’s advanced satellite infrastructure and extensive regional coverage with LTT’s national telecommunications expertise, with the aim of enhancing network resilience, improving service continuity, and accelerating digital transformation across Libya.
ARABSAT CEO Dr Badr N. Alsuwaidan described the agreement as reflecting the depth of the institutional relationship between ARABSAT and Libya’s telecommunications sector, including its ties with the Libyan International Telecommunications Company, one of ARABSAT’s principal shareholders.
“Through this agreement with Libya Telecom and Technology, ARABSAT will provide advanced satellite capacity and satellite communication solutions that will enhance communications services across Libya, supporting the evolving needs of government entities, telecommunications operators, enterprises, and strategic and critical sectors through secure, reliable, and high-performance satellite connectivity,” he said.
He further noted that investing in satellite infrastructure and building long-term strategic partnerships are fundamental to enabling sustainable development and strengthening the digital economy. “Together with our partners in Libya, we look forward to delivering innovative satellite solutions that create sustainable value for our shareholders, customers, and partners, while supporting the future of communications and digital development across the region,” he added.
LTT Chairman Eng. Ammar Al-Bouzaidi also welcomed the partnership.
“By combining ARABSAT’s advanced satellite capabilities with LTT’s national expertise, we will strengthen our communications infrastructure, enhance service quality, and deliver reliable connectivity solutions that support the evolving needs of our customers and the future development of Libya’s digital economy,” he said.
