EgSA Discusses Enhancing Space Cooperation with High-Level Delegations from Brazil and the African Space Council

On Monday, September 9, 2024, Dr. Sherif Sedky, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency(EgSA), welcomed a distinguished delegation from Brazil at the agency’s headquarters in Space City. The visit centred on discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of space and technology. Following the meeting, the Brazilian representatives viewed the agency’s facilities, including buildings and laboratories dedicated to testing and assembling satellites. The delegation deeply admired the agency’s impressive scientific research and technological development advancements.

As part of efforts to strengthen relations with African nations, Dr  Sedky welcomed Dr Tidiane Ouattara, Chairman of the African Space Council, during a brief official visit. Dr Ouattara commended the Egyptian Space Agency for its remarkable space technology and satellite development achievements. Following their meeting, Dr Ouattara toured the African Space Agency’s headquarters. Additionally, this symbolises Egypt’s pride in hosting this groundbreaking project. Concluding the visit, Dr. Sedky emphasised his eagerness for continued and fruitful cooperation between the African Space Agency and the Egyptian Space Agency.

Dr Tidiane was recently sworn in as the president of the African Space Council. He will oversee the operations and implementation of the African Space Agency’s programmes.
