NIGCOMSAT Signs MoU with MOMAS-EPAIL to Advance Nigeria’s Security

The Nigerian Communications Satellite Ltd (NIGCOMSAT) has forged a partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MOMAS Equipment and Protective Applications International Ltd (EPAIL). This partnership will boost communication infrastructure in Nigeria’s defense sector and strengthen national security..
The event, held at the MOMAS-EPAIL factory in Mowe, Ogun state, was a testament to the importance of this collaboration. NIGCOMSAT’s Managing Director, Mrs Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, lauded MOMAS-EPAIL’s investment in developing local content in the power, defence, and other sectors, underscoring the significance of this partnership.
Furthermore, Mrs Egerton-Idehen also praised MOMAS-EPAIL for its innovative contributions to national security. She encouraged other indigenous companies to collaborate with NIGCOMSAT to advance the country through effective communication networks. According to her, security is paramount to Nigeria at this moment. “Many might not realise that MOMAS-EPAIL manufactures defense materials for security, while NIGCOMSAT leads in satellite communication in Nigeria. Collaborating in this way adds significant value to our defence sector.”
She also stated that NIGCOMSAT, Nigeria’s leading satellite communication company, is committed to serving the country by partnering with local companies. Mrs Egerton-Idehen emphasised the importance of protecting national interests, creating value, and embracing innovation in the defence sector, reinforcing NIGCOMSAT’s commitment to the country.
In his remarks, Mr Kola Balogun, the chairman of MOMAS-EPAIL, said the partnership with NIGCOMSAT would build an effective database and improve data collection for national security. Additionally, he said the firm developed a strong info system for security, significantly growing in armored vehicles and operational materials.
Mr Balogun noted that building synergy with NIGCOMSAT would enhance group communication infrastructure and frontline operations. “The agreement must embed all vital information to safeguard and domesticate critical security details for Nigeria. This will further enhance our services and effectiveness towards service delivery in the defence sector”.
