SUMMARY:2nd International Medical Congress of Djibouti
DESCRIPTION:Following the success of its inaugural edition in 2023\, the 2nd International Medical Congress of Djibouti is set to be held from 11–13 December 2025 at the Djibouti Palace Kempinski. Organised in partnership with the Djibouti Ministry of Health\, the congress has quickly established itself as one of the most important scientific and medical gatherings in East Africa. The 2025 edition is themed:“Resilient Health Systems and Medical Innovation in Africa: Humanity\, Science\, and Sovereignty. \nThis year’s congress comes at a pivotal moment for Djibouti\, as it makes significant strides in both health and science. With the launch of two nano-satellites and the planned development of a rocket launch site in the north of the country\, Djibouti is building bridges between life sciences\, medical research\, and space technology. \nSpeakers will include leading medical and scientific experts from across Africa and beyond\, addressing innovations in healthcare\, resilience in health systems\, and the intersections between medicine\, technology\, and space technologies. \nJoin our Managing Director\, Dr Temidayo Oniosun\, at the upcoming congress\, where he will share insights on Africa’s expanding role in global scientific and space innovation. His presentation will highlight pioneering initiatives\, including his recent experiment that sent Nigerian egusi seeds to the International Space Station in July 2025 under the Global Earth Seeds for Space Initiative. The project explores how seeds behave in microgravity\, contributing to research on space-based food production and supporting the future of long-duration missions. \nThe congress will provide a unique platform for researchers\, policymakers\, and industry leaders to exchange knowledge\, strengthen regional collaboration\, and explore the future of medical innovation in Africa.
