The Nigerian Army Partners with NiGCOMSAT to Advance the Military Communication Infrastructure

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, hosted a team of delegates from Nigerian Communication Satellite Ltd (NIGCOMSAT), led by the Chief Executive Officer, Engr Tukur Lawal, at the Army Headquarters, Abuja. The strategic meeting underscored the Nigerian Army’s dedication to collaborating with NIGCOMSAT to advance the telecommunication sector.
The COAS appreciated the enduring collaboration between the Nigerian Army (NA) and NIGCOMSAT, emphasising that over the years, the agency has provided fast, reliable and secured communication to Army forces, imparting the efficiency of the country’s army. In addition, the COAS pledged to sustain the collaboration between the NA and NIGCOMSAT, stressing that the relationship with the agency has been positively rewarding.
Furthermore, Engineer Tukur Lawal commended the COAS for his feedback on NIGCOMSAT services and underscored the significance of collaboration between NIGCOMSAT and the NA to enhance operational efficiency and advance the nation’s territorial defence. He encouraged the NA to actively participate in the forthcoming satellite launch organised by the agency to promote national defence and security. This collaboration would involve the joint development of a secure communication infrastructure.
Both parties admitted to existing challenges and mutually agreed to address these issues to elevate overall productivity and effectiveness.
